Reducing Road Accidents Using DMAIC & Power BI

Led a Six Sigma–style project to understand and reduce road accidents in a high-risk corridor. Collected multi-year crash data and visualized patterns in Power BI by location, time, weather, and vehicle type. Used the DMAIC framework to define the problem, measure baseline incident rates, analyze root causes like poor lighting and risky intersections, and prioritize improvement actions. Recommended targeted interventions such as signal-timing changes, signage improvements, and speed-control measures; follow-up data showed an 18% decline in injury-related accidents after implementation.
